Rainbows and Unicorns: Planning for Clutter 2.0 and GTK+ 4.0

Presented by Mr. Emmanuele BASSI on 28 Jul 2012 from 11:45 to 12:25

The apocalypses happened, and the stars are aligning: in short, Clutter 2.0 is in its planning and development stages, with a release in 2013. This talk is about the changes introduced in the Last Days of the 1.x Clutter API cycle, and the changes that have been planned for the New Era that opens with the 2.x API cycle. We'll talk about API design, and how intent and implementation of Clutter have changed; we'll also talk about how applications will have to change to prove themselves worthy; we'll talk about toolkits as well, and how GTK+ 4.0 may look like once Clutter powers it. More importantly, we'll also try to put back some fun into application development, and to make the user experience dynamic and compelling, instead of static and boring.
